The urgency to implement a database system often arises during a needs assessment. Many customers realize only then how tidious and complex it is to compile data stocks and to sort and interpret them.
After sorting and analyzing the available project data and data stocks we can estimate the effort required for implementing a » database/ GIS. Less complex data stocks without any position-dependent information can be managed in easy spreadsheets or spreadsheet programs (e.g. Excel). Existing filling system can be managed by using for example a structered folder system. It is also possible to index the different folder contents in order to make them easily available by searching for keywords.
